How Does the SpeedBox 3.0 Work?
The SpeedBox 3.0 for Bosch Gen4 allows you to set a custom speed limit. Once installed, your e-bike display will show actual data like maximum and average speed, daily mileage, and remaining range.
Installation.
The SpeedBox 3.0 is installed between the speed sensor and the display cable, so the data passes through the SpeedBox.
- Remove the skid plate or protective plastic from the left side of the motor. If necessary, remove the pedal arm as well.
- Disconnect the rectangular display cable connector and the square speed sensor connector from the motor.
- Connect the corresponding connectors of the SpeedBox to the motor.
- Attach the connectors removed from the motor to the SpeedBox.
- The installation is complete. Test to ensure that the bike starts up and that speed data appears on the display by spinning the rear wheel.
- Arrange the SpeedBox and connectors so that the skid plate or protective plastic fits back into place.

Activation.
You can activate the SpeedBox directly from your bike's display. Activate SpeedBox 3.0 by pressing the WALK button, and the display will show a value of 9.9 km/h. After this, you can ride at speeds up to 40 km/h, 50 km/h, or over 60 km/h. To deactivate the SpeedBox, press the WALK button so the display shows 2.5 km/h, returning the speed limit to 25 km/h. After this, the e-bike operates as it did before the upgrade.
The SpeedBox is also designed for e-bikes without a WALK button. In this case, you can activate the SpeedBox using the (- + - +) button combination. You can deactivate the SpeedBox in the same way.
Speed Programming.
You can set the maximum speed for electric assistance by changing modes: Turbo - EMTB - Tour - Eco - Tour - EMTB - Turbo (- - - + + +). After this, the true speed limit will be displayed. You can modify the maximum speed of electric assistance by briefly pressing the WALK button or turning the rear wheel 360°. A display value of 1.5 km/h corresponds to a speed limit of 15 km/h, 2 km/h corresponds to 20 km/h, 2.5 km/h to 25 km/h, 3.0 km/h to 30 km/h, and 9.9 km/h to 99 km/h. The last displayed limit gets saved after 5 seconds of inactivity.
