How does PearTune MSO 4.0 work?
PearTune MSO 4.0 for Bosch Gen4 allows you to set a custom speed limit. Once installed, your e-bike's display will show actual data such as maximum and average speed, daily journey distance, and remaining range.
Installation.
PearTune MSO 4.0 is installed between the speed sensor and the display cable, routing the data through PearTune.
- Remove the skid plate or protective plastic from the left side of the motor. If necessary, remove the crank arm as well.
- Disconnect the rectangular display cable connector and the square speed sensor connector from the motor.
- Connect the corresponding PearTune connectors to the motor.
- Connect the disconnected connectors from the motor to PearTune.
- The installation is complete. Test by starting the bike and ensuring the speed information is displayed on the screen by spinning the rear wheel.
- Position PearTune and the connectors so the skid plate or protective plastic can be reattached.
Activation.
PearTune can be activated directly from your bike's display. Activate PearTune by pressing the WALK button, at which point the display will show a value of 9.9 km/h. After this, you can ride at speeds up to 40 km/h, 50 km/h, or over 60 km/h. To deactivate PearTune, press the WALK button again, and the display will read 2.5 km/h, reverting the speed limit to 25 km/h. After this, your e-bike operates as it did before the tuning was installed.
Speed programming.
The PearTune MSO 4.0 box includes a Chip Service Menu, where you can set the maximum assisted speed. More information can be found in Peartune_service_menu.pdf
