The Tubolight concept: We tested many different options to find the best combination of consistent protection, speed, shock absorption, stability, and weight. That’s why each version has its own shape and combination. We all know why inserts are designed: to protect the tire from damage and enhance ride quality.

With the new Tubolight, a new standard is achieved.

In exploring how the tire compresses and how the inserts work with the tire and rim, we moved material to the right places, above and outside the rim edge. The portion over the rim edge increases 30–60% depending on the rim width, and together with a harder compound, rim strikes are significantly reduced. A very tight fit remains in place because it adds lateral stability.

Air Channel:
The air channel between the insert and the rim acts like a valve. During an impact, some air molecules inside the tire shift from the outer part of the insert to the channel, causing a pressure differential. Because the insert is very tight at the edge, these molecules become "trapped" and last a fraction longer to restore even pressure between the outer and inner parts. This means that rolling resistance and tire bounce are reduced. These two features together achieve what every cyclist seeks: EFFICIENCY.

On first installation, we recommend not putting sealant into the valve.
