Tubolight's operating principle: We tested many different options to find the best combination of consistent protection, speed, shock absorption, stability, and weight. For this reason, each version has its own shape and combination. We all know why inserts are designed: to protect the tire from damage and enhance ride quality.

The new Tubolight sets a new standard.

By examining tire deformation and how inserts work with the tire and rim, we moved material to the right place, over the rim edge and outside. The portion over the rim edge increases by 30–60% depending on the rim width, and together with the harder compound, rim impacts are significantly reduced. A very tight fit is maintained, as it provides increased lateral stability.

Air Channel:
The air channel between the insert and the rim acts like a valve. During an impact, some of the air molecules inside the tire move from the insert's outer part to the channel, causing a pressure difference. Since the insert is extremely tight at the edge, these molecules get "trapped" and take a fraction longer to equalize the pressure between the outer and inner parts. This means that rolling resistance and tire bounce are reduced. These two features together create what every cyclist is looking for: EFFICIENCY.

During the first installation, we recommend not putting sealant in the valve.
