How does SpeedBox 3.1 for Bafang work?
The SpeedBox 3.1 tuning product for Bafang allows you to choose the speed limit for your e-bike. After installation, the e-bike display shows actual data such as maximum and average speed, trip distance, and remaining range.
Activation
Speedbox can be activated directly from your bike's display. After pressing the LIGHT button or the ↑↓↑↓ combination, a value of 99 km/h (62 mph) appears on the screen, and from this point on, you can ride at an unlimited speed.
You can deactivate the Speedbox by pressing the LIGHT button or the ↑↓↑↓ combination again. A value of 25 km/h (16 mph) will appear on the display, and the speed limit will reset to 25 km/h. Your e-bike will then operate the same way it did before the chip was installed.
Speed Programming
You can set the maximum speed of the electric assistance by changing the mode down three levels and then up three levels. The actual speed limit will then appear on the display. You can change the maximum speed of the electric assistance by briefly pressing the LIGHT button or by rotating the rear wheel 360°. The last displayed limit will be saved after 5 seconds of inactivity.
Installation
Before purchasing the product, carefully check that it is compatible with your bike by looking at the images and installation instructions.
When connecting the SpeedBox to the e-bike, you will find colored connectors that make installation very easy. We have provided detailed instructions and videos to aid installation. Removing the SpeedBox is just as easy. If you encounter any issues with installation or removal, do not hesitate to contact us.
If you plan to install the SpeedBox on a new bike, make sure to ride it for at least 1 km before the tuning activates.
