Third generation intelligent product for Specialized e-bikes – allows adjustment of speed limiter

SpeedBox 3.0 for Specialized is a tuning product that removes the speed limiter on Specialized e-bikes, including models equipped with SL motors. Once the tuning is installed, you can enjoy unlimited speed, and the e-bike display will show accurate data such as maximum and average speed, distance traveled, and remaining range.

How does the SpeedBox 3.0 for Specialized work?

The SpeedBox is installed on the e-bike frame under the TCU/TCD unit. Tuning is activated by turning the e-bike off and on twice. After activation, the tuning is active, and the motor will assist up to a speed of 50 km/h.

Speed programming.

You can adjust the maximum assistance speed as follows:

  1. Switch down three levels from Turbo mode and then three levels up (Trail → Eco → Off → Eco → Trail → Turbo).
  2. The default speed limiter of 25 km/h will appear on the display.
  3. Briefly activating the WALK function lets you increase the speed limiter by 5 km/h at a time (in some displays, the speed rounds to the nearest whole number).
  4. The last visible limit is automatically saved after 5 seconds of inactivity.
  5. To confirm the setting, turn the e-bike off and on twice.

You can check the current speed limit by pressing the button combination + - + -.

Note: The speed display in the Specialized Mission Control app does not work correctly with tuning. If your e-bike has a TCU without a display, we recommend the B.Tuning version, which is compatible with the SpeedBox app.

Installation

Connecting the SpeedBox to the e-bike is easy thanks to the color-coded connectors. We have prepared detailed installation instructions and videos to make the installation process smooth. Removing the tuning is equally simple. If you need assistance, our customer service is always available.

Note before installation:

If you are installing the SpeedBox on a new bike, make sure you have ridden at least 10 km before activating the tuning.
