Be aware that using this type of modified e-bike on public roads may be illegal. The manufacturer and retailer are not responsible for damages arising from using SpeedBox products. E-bikes equipped with SpeedBox products must be used exclusively on private property and at your own risk. The use of SpeedBox may void your bike's warranty. We strongly recommend using additional safety features and protective gear to prevent injuries.
- We recommend not updating your e-bike's firmware. Updates increase the risk of tuning detection.
- Disable automatic updates in the eBike Flow app.
- Note that SpeedBox's warranty does not cover malfunctions due to motor updates.
- When stopping briefly, to ensure smooth continuation, keep one foot on the pedal to avoid the start countdown.
- When stopping for an extended period, allow at least a partial countdown to occur.
- After long rides, the countdown may take several minutes.
How does SpeedBox 1.2 for Bosch work?
To correctly activate all functions of the SpeedBox, it is necessary to go into the e-bike's menu after tuning installation and change the wheel circumference of your e-bike.
Activation
Activate/deactivate tuning before riding (when the e-bike is stationary), not during the ride!
Activate the SpeedBox 1.2 tuning directly from your e-bike's control unit by pressing the WALK button for a moment (by pressing and holding the " - " button). The display on your e-bike will show a value of 3.5 km/h, and from now on, you can ride up to 35 km/h. You can change the default speed limit to your preference (up to 99 km/h), but to minimize the risk of error codes, we recommend that the speed does not exceed 35 km/h.
You can deactivate the tuning by pressing the WALK button again after a moment (by pressing and holding the " - " button). Your e-bike's display will show a value of 2.5 km/h, and the speed limit will reset to 25 km/h. Your e-bike will then function the same way it did before the tuning installation.
SpeedBox is designed for e-bikes that do not have or do not have the WALK assist function activated. In this case, you can activate/deactivate the tuning by switching between two assistance modes twice, i.e., by pressing the - + - + buttons.
Speed Programming
You can set the maximum speed limit by switching modes from TURBO down three levels and then up three levels: eMTB - TOUR+ - ECO - TOUR+ - eMTB - TURBO. After this, the actual speed limit will appear on the display. The top speed of the electric assist can be changed by briefly activating the WALK assist function or turning the rear wheel 360°. The value 2.5 km/h on the display corresponds to a limit of 25 km/h, 3.0 corresponds to 30 km/h, 3.5 corresponds to 35 km/h, etc. The last shown limit is saved after 15 seconds of inactivity.
Note after riding
After the ride, leave the e-bike on for a moment until the SpeedBox finishes "calculating" (the riding time continues on the display until it stops and shows the correct distance traveled) to prevent the tuning from being detected on your e-bike. Do not remove the display to lock the e-bike before the SpeedBox has finished the "calculation" process.
