Warning:
Be aware that using modified e-bikes like this on public roads may be illegal. The manufacturer and retailer are not responsible for damages resulting from the use of SpeedBox products. E-bikes equipped with SpeedBox products must not be used on public roads, bike paths, or public places. They can only be used on private property and at your own risk. Using a SpeedBox may void the warranty on your bike. We strongly recommend using other safety features and equipment to prevent injuries.
- We recommend not updating your e-bike's firmware. An update increases the risk of detecting tuning; if the bike is updated and the box stops working, it is not covered by warranty.
- When making a short stop to ensure smooth continuation, keep one foot on the pedal to avoid starting the countdown.
- For longer stops, allow at least a partial countdown to occur.
- After a long ride, the countdown may take several minutes.
- Do not remove the display if the countdown has not finished.
- Activate/deactivate tuning before riding (when the e-bike is stationary), not during the ride.
- We recommend not exceeding 35 km/h.
How does the SpeedBox 1.1 for Bosch work?
To ensure all functions of the SpeedBox are activated correctly, it's important to go to the menu and adjust your e-bike's wheel circumference to the correct size after installation.
Installation.
The SpeedBox 1.1 Smart System is installed between the speed sensor and the display cable, allowing data to pass through the SpeedBox.
- Remove the skid plate or protective cover from the left side of the motor. If necessary, also remove the pedal arm.
- Disconnect the display and speed sensor cables from the motor.
- Connect the corresponding SpeedBox connectors to the motor.
- Connect the connectors you removed from the motor to the SpeedBox.
- The installation is complete. Test that the bike starts and that speed data is displayed by spinning the rear wheel.
- Fit the SpeedBox and connectors so that the skid plate or protective cover can be put back in place.

Activation.
Activate/deactivate the tuning before riding (when the e-bike is stationary), not while riding!
Activate the SpeedBox 1.1 directly from your e-bike's control unit using the WALK button (by briefly holding the " - " button pressed). Your e-bike display will show a value of 3.5 km/h, and from this point, you can ride up to 35 km/h. You can change the default speed limit as desired (up to 99 km/h), but to minimize the risk of error codes, we recommend not exceeding 35 km/h.
You can deactivate the tuning after a moment using the WALK button (by holding the " - " button). Your e-bike display will show a value of 2.5 km/h, and the speed limit will return to 25 km/h. Your e-bike will then function as it did before the tuning installation.
The SpeedBox is also designed for e-bikes where the WALK assistance function is not available or activated. In this case, you can activate/deactivate the tuning by switching between two support modes twice, i.e., by pressing the - + - + buttons.
Programming the speed.
You can set the maximum speed limit by switching modes from TURBO down three levels and then back up three levels: eMTB - TOUR+ - ECO - TOUR+ - eMTB - TURBO. The actual speed limit will then appear on the display. The maximum speed of the electric assistance can be changed by enabling/disabling the WALK assist function momentarily or by rotating the rear wheel 360°. The display value 2.5 km/h corresponds to a 25 km/h limit, 3.0 corresponds to 30 km/h, 3.5 corresponds to 35 km/h, and so on. The last displayed limit is saved after 15 seconds of inactivity.
After riding.
After your ride, leave your e-bike on for a moment until the SpeedBox completes its "counting" process (the riding time continues on the display until it stops and shows the correct distance traveled) to prevent the detection of tuning in your e-bike. Do not remove the display to lock the e-bike until the SpeedBox has completed the "counting" process.
