The Echo and MIPS-C2 brain protection system were developed in collaboration with MIPS. MIPS is designed to provide additional protection against rotational movements affecting the brain during angled impacts. Rotational movements are a combination of rotational energy and forces caused by angular acceleration affecting the brain, increasing the risk of mild and severe brain injuries. Installed in the helmet, the MIPS protection system is shown to reduce rotational movement by redirecting forces and energies that would otherwise impact the brain.
