That's why each version has its own shape and combination. We all know why inserts are designed: to protect the tire from damage and improve ride quality.

With the new Tubolight, a new standard is achieved.

By examining tire compression and how inserts work with the tire and rim, we moved material to the right place—on top of and outside the rim edge. The portion over the rim edge increases by 30-60% depending on the rim's width, and with a harder compound, rim hits are significantly reduced. The extremely tight fit is maintained, as it provides added lateral stability.

Air Channel:
The air channel between the insert and the rim acts like a valve. During impact, some of the air molecules inside the tire move from the outer part of the insert into the channel, creating a pressure difference. Because the insert is extremely tight at the edge, these molecules become "trapped" and take a fraction longer to return the equal pressure between the outer and inner parts. This means rolling resistance and tire bouncing are reduced. Together, these two features result in what every cyclist seeks: EFFICIENCY.

For the initial installation, we recommend not applying sealant to the valve.
