In the Performance and Racing series, Ergon grips prevent many problems familiar to cyclists, such as numb fingers, sore hands, and forearm discomfort. These symptoms are caused by high pressure on sensitive areas of the palm and incorrect hand positioning. Anatomically designed Ergon grips provide 100% contact with the grip, while round grips have only 60% contact surface area.

The pressure exerted on the ulnar nerve is significantly reduced, which helps prevent hand fatigue. If the grip is correctly installed, improper hand positioning is impossible. The grip also prevents strain on the median nerve (carpal tunnel syndrome) and wrist pain.
