In the Performance and Racing series, Ergon grips help prevent many common cyclist issues such as finger numbness, hand soreness, and forearm discomfort. These symptoms result from excessive pressure on sensitive areas of the palm and incorrect hand positioning. Ergonomically designed Ergon grips provide 100% contact with the grip, whereas round grips offer only 60% contact area.

The pressure on the ulnar nerve is significantly reduced, which helps prevent hand fatigue. If the grip is installed correctly, improper hand positioning is impossible. The grip also helps relieve stress on the median nerve (carpal tunnel syndrome) and wrist pain.
